CAIRO – 5 July 2017: Foreign ministers of Egypt, KSA, UAE and Bahrain are meeting Wednesday in Cairo to announce the results of discussions which might lead to imposing new sanctions on Qatar, as the tiny Gulf state is more lenient to preserve its stubbornness towards the Arab demands.

After several states severed ties with Doha last month, Egyptian politicians and social media demanded probing Qatar internationally, accusing the Gulf country of involvement in funding terrorist groups, which launched attacks killing thousands of Egyptian armed and police forces over the past few years, since the ouster of the President Mohamed Morsi in 2013.

Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain cut diplomatic ties with the state of Qatar on June 5 on charges of supporting terrorism and extremist groups in the region. The Qatari regime is responsible for the lives of victims who have been killed by terrorist operations supported by Qatar in Egypt and other Arab countries, Egyptian Parliamentarian Mohamed Abou Hamed announced on several occasions recently.

Two police officers and one conscript have been killed Wednesday morning in a terrorist attack targeting their checkpoint in Al-Ayat, Giza governorate.

An anonymous armed group attacked the checkpoint and shot the police officers according to security sources’ statements adding, “After killing them, the terrorists shortly ran away.”

On Tuesday, three security personnel were killed and another ten injured in an armored explosion south of Arish city, North Sinai, according to sources interviewed by Egypt Today.

The ten injured personnel were transferred to Arish Hospital for further examinations. A medical report issued later stated that the injuries included fractures and shrapnel wounds. The deceased’s bodies were handed to their families.

On June 18, two police officers died in a blast targeted at a Central Security Forces (CSF) vehicle on the Autostrad Road near the Cairo suburb of Maadi. Four security personnel were also injured. Qatar is accused of supporting and funding terrorism in the region, besides harboring fugitive extremists who issued fatwas allow killing innocents, Ali Bader, deputy of the Parliament’s Human Rights Committee said on Tuesday.

Egypt’s parliamentarian said that prosecuting Qatar in the international courts for supporting terrorist groups is the real victory for martyrs who fell as a result of terrorist acts.

Egyptian Member of Parliament Mohamed Abu Hamid said on Tuesday that Qatar is directly involved in crimes against the Egyptian state, asserting that as a parliamentarian and Egyptian citizen he will not accept not to hold any part committed such violations against Egyptian people accountable for such actions.

Hamid said that the Egyptian state will prosecute those involved in crimes harming the well being of Egyptian citizens in compliance with the international law.

Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim; the former Chief of Dubai Police Force said on his Twitter account Wednesday that Qatar should be prosecuted for committing crimes such as funding and supporting terrorist groups.

He added that victims or whoever suffered damages should file lawsuits in their countries demanding compensation from Qatar.

In several successive tweets, Khalfan said: “Kind people, we are facing rulers in Qatar whose intentions are darker than coal, while others of Al-Than family has hearts purer than snow” stressing that “Qatar will stay out of Cooperation Council until God chooses a wise ruler among Al-Thani who respects the values of fraternity.” Khalfan also added, “Hamad Bin Gasem and Hamad Bin Khalifa are the biggest regional trouble makers; they ruined everything, and created political crises showing unprecedented stupidity.”
“As long as Al Jazeera; Shimon Peres’s Channel; airs from Qatar, ill intentions will always be there; Al Jazeera functions as an Israeli intelligence agency in Qatar,” Khalfan claimed.

It has to be mentioned that Egyptian social media users expressed their rejection of showing any leniency in dealing with the tiny emirate of Qatar by launching a hashtag- #Egyptian_blood_Is_Precious- condemns Qatari support for terrorist groups committing crimes inside Egypt.

The popular hashtag campaign documents the crimes and massacres undertaken by groups funded by the tiny emirate, where several Egyptians were killed and suffered from untreatable injuries. The campaign pledges to not forget the Egyptian spilled blood and sacrifices to contain the terrorism provoked by individuals sheltered in Qatar, such as the leaders of the outlawed terrorist group the Muslim Brotherhood.

Egyptian citizens participating in the campaign said they are keen to win the war against the terrorism funders in the region, also to have justice for those who sacrificed their lives in the battle against extremism.
