CAIRO- 3 July 2020: - Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad on Friday declared the issuance of the first guidance for cruises within the boundaries of the protectorates and their environs with the aim of resuming the sea activities amid the outbreak of the novel coronavirus COVID-19.

The guidance outlines measures required to avert the environmental consequence that may be caused by the cruise activities, in light of precautionary measures issued by the Tourism Ministry to resume tourism activities and halt the spread of the novel coronavirus, Fouad said in a statement issued by the ministry.

On Thursday, the ministry issued the guidelines on the ways of disposal of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) waste in several sectors.

Minister of Environment Yasmine Fouad said that the guidelines aim to raise public awareness of managing this waste., and the individuals who produce these wastes in how to properly handle them in order to preserve health and the environment in light of the growing phenomenon of digging garbage, which requires treating personal protection waste residues as dangerous medical waste that can transmit infection.
