Tunisian president pardons 196 prisoners on Eidul Fitr

TUNIS, June 23: Tunisian President Béji Caid Essebsi decided on Friday to grant a presidential pardon to 196 prisoners ahead of Eidul Fitr, TAP news agency reported.

Prisoners sentenced for the first time for drug use, those involved in cases of checks without provisions and detainees with disabilities will benefit from the measure, the presidency said in a press release.
