CAIRO – 21 June 2017: Abu Dhabi TV announced it will air Thursday serious confessions by a Qatari intelligence officer who will reveal Doha’s use of social media accounts to insult UAE leaders, according to a statement posted by a Twitter account affiliated with the UAE air force.

Al Fursan, the aerobatics demonstration tea, of the United Arab Emirates Air Force, said on its Twitter account Wednesday that the Qatari intelligence Officer Hamad Ali was arrested in UAE, and that his confessions will be aired for the first time. The post included a hashtag “Qatar spies’ scandals.”

Another tweet referred to a mass case in UAE, in which Qatari nationals are facing charges of administering social media accounts to insult UAE sheikhs.

According to AlArabiya news website, Abu Dhabi and Emirates TV Channels will broadcast a video of the confessions revealing Doha’s plans against UAE.

A UAE court has sentenced a number of Qatari nationals to jail terms ranging between 7 to 10 years in prison over using tweets and developing hashtags to insult Emirati leaders.
