Sisi congratulates Saudi’s new Crown Prince

CAIRO – 21 June 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi called Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman Al Saud to congratulate him on his new post, according to a Wednesday statement from the president’s office.

Sisi expressed his happiness for the royal decree appointing Prince Mohammad as Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia and Deputy Prime Minister, wishing success to him and to Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman expressed his sincere thanks to the president. He affirmed the strength of relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia and his keenness to strengthen them in various fields.

Earlier Wednesday, the king issued another royal decree relieving Crown Prince Mohamed bin Nayef from the posts of Crown Prince, deputy prime minister and minister of interior.

According to the decree, Mohammad bin Salman Al Saud was named as the Kingdom's Crown Prince and deputy prime minister while reserving his post as defense minister.

Bin Salman, 31, was chosen by a majority of 31 out of 34 of the royal family's key members.
