CAIRO - 27 March 2020: Egypt’s consulate in Geneva said on Friday the total number of Egyptian nationals stranded in Switzerland is being counted.

The consulate noted on its official social media page that the cases include those who do not have permanent residence permits in Switzerland or any other European Union country.

The same thing applies to students and those who were on medical trips and could not return home, it added.

Taking into account the current conditions as regards the spread of coronavirus, work is underway to help all Egyptian nationals stranded in Switzerland go back home, the consulate said.

It asserted that all returnees will undergo medical checkups once they arrive in Egypt as per the instructions of the Egyptian Ministry of Health and in compliance with the World Health Organization’s guidelines.

They may also stay in quarantine for 14 days if required, the consulate added. (MENA)
