CAIRO – 19 June 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi and Mohammed bin Zayed Sultan Al-Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, emphasized the need to stop funding terrorist groups and supplying them with weapons, according to a Monday Egyptian presidency statement.

Presidency spokesperson, Ambassador Alaa Youssef, said that Sisi praised the UAE role to promote bilateral cooperation, and expressed Egypt's keenness to further develop bilateral relations at all levels.

For his part, Crown Prince Bin Zayed emphasized his country’s continued support to Egypt in different fields. He stressed the importance of Egypt's role in the region as a pillar of stability, peace and security; he also praised Egypt's efforts in the fight against terrorism.

The two sides agreed to continue coordination and consultation, especially in this delicate phase witnessed by the region.

Sisi received Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahyan Monday at the Ittihadiya Palace in Heliopolis, Cairo.

Sisi and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan discussed the fight against terror, and "both sides stressed the importance of all Arab states and the international community in fighting terrorism, especially in stopping the funding of terrorist groups and providing political and media cover for them," the presidency statement added.
