CAIRO – 19 June 2017: Train tickets have been provided to all passengers requesting tickets for next week’s Eid al-Firt holiday, unusual for the busy holiday, the National Authority for Railways said Monday.

“The train ticket shortage is over now. No citizen will be declined when he makes a booking,” the chairman of the authority, Gen. Medhat Shousha, told Egypt Today on Monday. “I challenge anyone who claims he failed to book a ticket for the Eid vacation,” he added.

Shousha said the crisis is over because the available tickets meet the citizens’ demands, adding that he follows up on the booking process and trains’ operating systems periodically.

Eid al-Fitr, the three-day feast that follows the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, is a high transportation season. Most of Cairo residents use the holiday to visit families across the nation or to take a vacation outside the capital. There are usually complaints about the shortage of tickets each year.
