CAIRO – 28 October 2019: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Monday attended the opening of the World Radiocommunication Conference, held this year in South Sinai's Sharm El Sheikh, with the presence of more than 3,5000 participants from 140 countries.

World Radiocommunication Conferences (WRC), organized by the UN agency of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), are held to review the regulations of using the Radio and also the use of the radio-frequency spectrum as well as the geostationary-satellite (earth-orbiting satellite) and the non-geostationary satellite orbits, according to the mission stated by the ITU Council.

The WRC is held every three to four years.

Over 50 ministers and deputy ministers of communication from around the world are participating in the conference, in addition to more than 50 companies and international organizations working in the field of telecommunications around the world.
