CAIRO - 19 October 2019: Heliopolis metro station, the largest in the Middle East, will be inaugurated Sunday in Cairo, after the completion of its construction works.

The station will start receiving commuters as of Sunday morning, with the trains of the third line will be allowed to make stops at it.

Built on 10,000 square meters, Heliopolis station is the second on the fourth phase of the third line coming after Haroun station, where trains still do not make stops due to undergoing works, but rather continue to El-Shams Club station.

Heliopolis station is established in accordance with the international standards, as it includes escalators to serve commuters from the street pavements all the way to inside the station. It is also equipped with ATM machine to help in booking tickets, as well as three-level air conditioning system.
