CAIRO - 20 July 2019: Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) Karam Karam speculates that many member states will seek bilateral cooperation with Egypt to benefit from its distinguished experience with establishing the Skill Evaluation Center of Workforce Development Agency.

Karam made the statements during his visit to the center while heading an ESCWA delegation after the conclusion of the three-day workshop held by the organization in Cairo. The event took place in collaboration with the Ministry of Planning, Monitoring, and Administrative Reform and the Central Agency For Organization and Administration.

Karam praised the electronic application system used in public employees recruitment as it facilitates the evaluation of candidates’ technical skills as well as their personal traits accurately. Karam commended the fact that the application process is completely digitized and that no human intervention is allowed.

ESCWA’s member states are Bahrain, Jordan, Iraq, Palestine, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia, Oman, Kuwait, Yemen, and Egypt.
