CAIRO 19 July 2019: Under the title “Egypt hosts 145 different nationalities on its territories,” Egypt published a video promotes integration among people regardless of their origins, colors, nationalities, or language.

The Egyptian government, in cooperation with the Swiss embassy in Cairo and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), launched an initiative titled “Let’s Complete Each Other”, calling for fund raising for migrants, who seek achieving projects they dream of.

The Initiative also comes under the high patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Youth and Sport.

Egypt has hosted many migrants for decades which made it a culturally rich country, said Head of International Organization for Migration (IOM) mission in Egypt Laurent de Bock in May 2019.

“As of November 31, 2018, Egypt hosts more than 242,000 registered refugees and asylum-seekers of 58 different countries including: Syria (55 percent), Sudan (16.9 percent), Ethiopia (6.51 percent), Eritrea (6.27 percent), and South Sudan (5.88 percent),” said the UNHCR in a statement on January 14, 2018.

In a meeting with German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas in July 2018, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry affirmed that Egypt currently hosts nearly 5 million refugees of different nationalities.
