CAIRO – 14 July 2019: Kuwaiti authorities will extradite eight Egyptian nationals, who are fugitives from justice over joining the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood, to Egypt following investigations, reported the Kuwaiti news agency security officials on Saturday.

On Friday, the Kuwaiti security forces announced capturing eight Egyptian nationals, who are facing sentences of up to 15 years in prison for joining a terrorist cell and plotting terrorist attacks in Egypt, according to a statement from the Kuwaiti Interior Ministry.

The arrested people have confessed crimes committed inside Egyptian territories, the statement added.

In August 2018, the Egyptian security forces arrested seven alleged militants suspected of involvement in a foiled church bombing outside Cairo.

A statement revealed the identity of the suicide bomber, and announced the arrest of six others involved in the case, including two women.

Islamist militants carried out two deadly bombings on Palm Sunday in April 2017 and a blast at Cairo's largest Coptic cathedral in December 2016 that killed 28 people, in addition toa church shooting in December 2017 that killed 11 people.

Egypt has fought an insurgency led by the Islamic State in the Sinai Peninsula that has killed hundreds of soldiers and policemen in recent years.
