KABUL - 6 July 2019: Afghan security forces conducted an airstrike on the western province of Farah, leaving at least eight Taliban militants dead and injured, Afghan news agency Khaama Press reported on Saturday.

Military officials said the airstrike killed five Taliban militants and wounded three others.

The Taliban group has not commented on the airstrikes, so far.

The security situation in Farah province has deteriorated during the recent years.

Taliban militants are active in some districts of the province and repeatedly conduct terrorist related activities.
