CAIRO – 4 July 2019: On the sidelines of the 2019 Green Economy high-level Forum, which kicked off on Tuesday in Bahrain, Egypt’s Ministry of Environment and Bahrain’s Supreme council for Environment signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on environment protection and climate issues, said Ministry of Environment in a statement on Thursday.

On the basis of the MoU, the two countries will exchange climate-related information and expertise to achieve sustainable development, the statement said, noting that a two-year plan, as per the MoU, will be conducted by the two countries over the period between 2019 and 2020.

Egypt and Bahrain have strong relations in many fields as the trade exchange between Egypt and Bahrain recorded about $165 million per year, according to Director of Cairo Center for Economic Studies Abdel Maneam el-Said’s statement in August 2018.
