CAIRO - 1 July 2019: A group of fans collected garbage from the Cairo Stadium grandstands on Sunday following Egypt-Uganda game which ended 2-0 for Egyptin the 2019 African Cup of Nation (AFCON).





Following every football match for the Egyptian national team and other African countries at Cairo International Stadium, dozens of fans collect the garbage from the stadium grandstands.

The campaign, which was launched by a group of youth onJune 20 following the opening game between Egypt and Zimbabwe, was welcomed by President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi.

“I am proud of this respectful model of youth for presenting an honorable image of our Egypt to the world,” said President Sisi on his official Twitter on June 22.




Like the Egyptian fans, Algerian fans collected garbage from the grandstands of June 30 Stadium following the football match between Alegria and Kenya, which ended 2-0 for Alegria.
