MOSCOW - 9 May 2019: A meeting of the UN Security Council on the humanitarian situation in Syria will be held in late May, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin said Thursday.

"Such meetings are being held regularly. The UNSC discusses Syria both in terms of the political process and the humanitarian situation. Such a meeting is also scheduled for the end of the month," Vershinin was quoted by Sputnik news agency as saying.

"From our point of view, we have made real progress on the formation of the [Syrian] constitutional committee," he stressed.

The deputy foreign minister noted that Russia and Syria will continue to destroy the positions of terrorists in Syria's Idlib.
