CAIRO – 7 JULY 2017: The Giza Criminal Court held a court session on Wednesday at the Institute of Police Personnel in Tora, presided by Chancellor Moataz Khafagi, Youm7 reported. The Court delayed the verdict of 44 people involved in the case known as the Ajnad Masr terrorist cell until October 8.

The Court of Appeals headed by Chancellor Ayman Abbas had scheduled the first hearing of the appeal for July 25. A request to change courts put forward by 12 of the defendants had been turned down earlier.

The defendants are charged with murdering three police officers and three privates, and also stand accused of attempting to murder 100 police officers by targeting police checkpoints and personnel.

Ajnad Masr is an active Salafist militant group.
