CAIRO, April 12 (MENA) - Al Azhar University sacked three professors and dismissed another over a stripping incident at a faculty.

Other dismissal penalties were given to the students, who took part in the incident, the university’s media center chief Ghanem Saeed said.

Saeed added that the university took stricter decision and legal measures against all those involved in the incident as soon as it got briefed with the indecent and shameful acts.

He stressed that the incident was an individual act and the Al Azhar University had nothing to do with it as it also violated all the norms and ethics of this respectful institution.

A video circulated on social media networks showed an Azhar professor ordering two of his students to take off their pants in class, in front of a fully packed class hall. This resulted in the students stripping and the rest of class cheering.
