CAIRO – 6 April 2019: Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed El Assar received on Friday a delegation by the Italian Pietro Beretta Gun Factory to discuss the possibility of manufacturing Beretta M9 9mm pistols in Egypt.

The meeting comes within a strategic framework between the Ministry of Military Production and international companies to exchange advanced technology in all fields, especially arms manufacturing.

It was settled to increase ways of cooperation and investments between Abu Zaabal Company for Specialized Industries and Beretta, forming a committee aiming to increase the flow of investments.

For his part, President of the Italian company, Franco Gussalli Beretta, affirmed the necessity of such cooperation where Egypt provides qualified human resources, technological units, and production lines able to compete the international markets.

“Egypt manufactures large amount of pistol and ammunitions as per to international standards and quality, offering competitive pricing that helps to nationalize the technology of manufacturing 9mm Pistols or parts of it,” Minister Assar said in press remarks.

At the end of the meeting, the two parties agreed to establish a mutual committee to discuss further opportunities and fields of mutual concerns.
