CAIRO, April 3 (MENA) - The Islamic Sharia has always urged good treatment of orphans and pressed for fulfilling all their needs, Egypt's Mufti Dr Shawqi Allam said Wednesday.

Orphans are an integral part of the Muslim social fabric, Allam said as Egypt prepares to mark their day which falls on the first Friday of April.

This celebration sends a message to orphans in Egypt and the Arab world that their society does not ignore them, he noted.

Allam urged Egyptian families to visit orphans throughout the year just to make them happy, adding orphanages are open to visitors all days of the year.
