Egypt to implement Tanzanian Dam Rufiji

CAIRO - 17 March 2019: Mohamed al-Assar, minister of military production, received Hussein Ali Mweni, the Tanzanian minister of Defense and National Service, at the Ministry of Military Production to discuss ways of promoting mutual cooperation in the military manufacturing field.

Assar welcomed Mweni, assured the deep relations between the two countries and displayed the technological and technical abilities of the military production companies. The Egyptian minister also showed the most significant military and civilian products that the ministry manufactures.

Moreover, Assar asserted the ministry’s keenness to enhance cooperation with the Tanzanian ministry and companies within the framework of Egypt’s new strategy.

During the meeting, the two parties discussed the implementation of a set of projects in Tanzania by the Egyptian military production companies.

Furthermore, the Egyptian Military Production Ministry will cooperate with some Egyptian companies to implement the Rufiji Dam. Egypt also extended an invitation to specialists and experts of the Tanzanian companies to visit the Egyptian military production companies.

For his part, Mweni lauded the Egyptian achievements in the military manufacturing field and national projects. The Tanzanian minister also praised the role Egypt plays in the region especially after chairing African Union Presidency.

"The Egyptian technological and human experience in the military manufacturing field encourages us to develop the Tanzanian companies that benefit from the Egyptian model," Mweni further elaborated.
