CAIRO – 27 February 2019: Jordanian King Abdullah II on Wednesday offered his deepest condolences for victims of Cairo’s Ramsis Train Station.

A statement by the Jordanian Press Agency said King Abdullah II extends his deepest condolences and sympathy for victims of the accident.

A Wednesday explosion at the Cairo Railway Station reaped the lives of 20 citizens and injured 42 others after a train locomotive crashed into a buffer stop at platform no. 6 at the station.

Heavy black smoke was seen billowing from the building in central Cairo.

Immediately, security forces completely halted all movement and closed off the site with ambulances and firefighters nearby to control the situation and transfer the injured to the nearest hospitals.
