CAIRO – 17 February 2019: Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al Sisi held a meeting on Sunday with the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) shortly after arriving from a four-day visit to Germany, where he took part in the 55th session of the Munich Security Conference (MSC).

Terrorists in North Sinai attacked a force concentration on Saturday. The fire exchange resulted in the death of seven terrorists, and 14 injuries and casualties among military personnel.

Spokesperson of the Egyptian Armed Forces Tamer al-Refai announced that the forces were sweeping the area to find the remaining assailants.

The Armed Forces launched an anti-terror campaign last February to eliminate terrorism in North Sinai after a mosque was targeted resulting in the death of more than 300 civilians. “The Comprehensive Operation Sinai 2018” has succeeded to eliminate hundreds of terrorists confiscating the firearms and explosive devices they possessed and destroying the vehicles they used.
