CAIRO – 11 February 2019: Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al Sisi met on Monday chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, on the sidelines of the 32nd African Union (AU) summit held in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa from February 10 to 11.

Faki said that the current Egyptian presidency of the AU would cause a push forward due to the Egyptian distinguished policies in the region and Egypt’s unique historical and cultural status on the continent.

On his part, Egypt’s Abdel Fatah al Sisi said that the continent is facing numerous political, Security and social challenges that require unified efforts. The president also expressed his gratitude to the Ethiopian Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed, for Ethiopia’s warm reception and the well-organized summit.
