CAIRO – 4 February 2019: The Ministry of Transportation offered free train cards for cancer patients and their companions, according to a statement issued by the ministry on Sunday, Feb.3.

The statement reported that the cards could be used any time, patients should receive the cards 15 days before travelling and that the cards are available at stations, giving access to air-conditioned trains.

Patients should submit a report from the authorized treatment center, a photocopy of their national ID or birth certificate, a copy of the national ID of the parents and two personal photos of the patient to get the card.

In June 2018, the ministry announced that four seats in all standard and air-conditioned trains will be allocated to cancer patients and their companions.
