ABU DHABI, Feb 3 (MENA) - Egyptian Immigration Minister Nabila Makram attended the inauguration of the World Humanitarian Brothers Conference here Sunday.

The conference is organized by the Council of Muslim Sages under the auspices of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nuhhayan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

Attending the conference are also Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit, religious leaders and intellectual figures from around the world.

The conference seeks to address intellectual extremism and its negative aspects.

It also aims to contribute to the reconstruction of bridges of communication, and to address challenges standing in the way of achieving security, stability and peace.

The event coincides with the historic visit of Grand Imam of Al Azhar Dr Ahmed el Tayyeb and Vatican Pope Francis to the UAE.
