CAIRO – 26 January 2019: All foreign and Arab Television channels started on Saturday to legalize their situation in Egypt after the end of the grace period stated by Egypt’s Supreme Council for Media Regulation (SCMR).

The channels submitted requests to have studios in Egyptian Media Production city, obtain licenses to broadcast outside the city and to have the live broadcast equipment.

A member of SCMR praised the quick response of several TV channels that were keen to legalize their situation according to SCMR’s calls. The member urged the rest of the channels to start the procedures that will ease the tasks of their reporters.

The channels that submitted their requests included Sky News, Al Arabiya, French Television and other Saudi channels. The SCMR addressed earlier all the foreign and domestic media outlets to legalize their situation in Egypt.
