CAIRO -26 January 2019: A mother of four children could be jailed and fined over causing danger to her child after forcing him to jump from a small window into a balcony in the third floor in Giza.

A video went viral on Facebook showing a 13-year-old child was hysterically screaming out of fear to fall from the third floor, after his mother forced him to jump from a window into their balcony to bring her the keys the boy left inside the apartment.

"I am afraid...I will look for it [the key]...Help! help!, I will fall," the boy was screaming, while his mother was pushing him towards the balcony.

Neighbors in the adjacent buildings were shouting at the woman to stop pushing the child, saying "he will fall."

After her attempt to make the boy jumps into the balcony failed , she hardly grabbed the child's legs and saved him, according to the video, which was released by her neighbor (journalist). The woman did not care about her child's situation and beat him again after being saved.

At the end, the apartment's lock was broken and she with her boy and his three other brothers, whom were playing in the street, entered.

The State-owned National Council for Childhood and Motherhood (ENCRO) filed a complaint against the woman, whom is under investigation over accusations of "child abuse."

"I did not mean cause my child any harm...I did not know that the video went viral on Facebook or any complaint was filed against me," the woman said in the investigations.

"He who cause danger to a child would face a 6-month in prison term and a fine of 2,000-5,000 EGP," said member of Egyptian Lawyer Syndicate Amr el Khasht, calling for toughening the penalty against the women.

Minister of Social Solidarity Ghada Wali ordered to provide psychological support to the child.
