MOSCOW, Jan 26 (MENA) - Russia hopes Syria will finally be back in the Arab League, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said.

"We are interested in Syria’s resuming relations with the Arab League so that Syria could be back in the Arab family," TASS news agency quoted Lavrov as saying.

"Syria needs in more humanitarian assistance to create conditions for the return of refugees and we believe it is a reserve for serious work that is to be done to implement the United Nations Security Council resolutions," he added.

"It is impossible to strengthen security in the Middle East and North Africa without settling protracted conflicts, like the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the conflict around Western Sahara," he stressed.
