CAIRO - 16 January 2019: Chairman of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) Ahmed Abdel Aal revealed on Wednesday that a committee has been formed to study the possibility of changing the description of Egypt’s climate in light of global climate change.

Abdel Aal stated the committee examines data of Egypt’s climate, surface pressure charts, and others data pertinent to the past 50 years. He added that when the final report having the description of Egypt’s climate at present is out, copies will be sent to the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, and the Ministry of High Education and Scientific Research.

The climate of Egypt is currently described as hot and dry in summer, and moderate and rainy in winter.
