Grand Imam: Azhar keen to support Somali people

CAIRO - 15 January 2019: Grand Imam of Al Azhar Sheikh Ahmed el Tayyeb on Tuesday said that Al Azhar is keen on offering all types of support to the Somali people.

At a meeting with Head of the Somali Islamic Scholars Academy Sheikh Youssuf Ali, he added that Somali students who are studying in Al Azhar receive all care and interest.

He added that Al Azhar is training Somali scholars on how to confront extremist thought.

Meanwhile, the Somali senior scholar expressed appreciation for the role of Al Azhar in spreading the true teachings of Islam in the world.
