Inaugurating mosque, cathedral at same time ‘unprecedented’: Pope Tawadros

CAIRO,7 Jan 2019 - Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese on Monday said that inaugurating a mosque and a cathedral at the same time is unprecedented at the world level.

The pope was referring to the inauguration of Al Fattah Al Aleem Mosque and the Cathedral of the Nativity in the New Administrative Capital on Sunday by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

During receiving officials who visited the Egyptian Orthodox Church to greet him on Christmas, the pope added that president Sisi honored his promise to inaugurate the cathedral on time.
