CAIRO, 27 Dec 2019: Egypt asserted its unwavering support for the security and stability of Sudan, saying it is part and parcel from the Egyptian national security.

This came in a joint statement issued at the end of the 2nd round of a four-way session held in Khartoum between foreign ministers and chiefs of intelligence bodies from Egypt and Sudan, within the framework of following up the results of the first round of the meeting that was held in Cairo on February 8.

Both sides reviewed the steps taken to boost bilateral ties since holding the first round and the positive developments witnessed in the Egyptian-Sudanese ties.

The meeting also tackled the progress of joint projects between both countries including the project of electric linkage between Egypt and Sudan.

Both sides welcomed the meeting held currently by the Permanent Technical Authority for Nile Water in Cairo on December 24-28 in Cairo.

They asserted the importance of developing cooperation in the fields of Nile water.
The get-together tackled regional and international issues of mutual interest.
