CAIRO, 27 Dec 2018: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi inspected at dawn Thursday the second stage of Rod el Farag axis, the Grand Egyptian Museum and the Pyramids plateau.

Presidential spokesman Bassam Radi said the president listened to a full explanation from the projects' managers.

The second stage of Rod el Farag axis, which extends 16.7 kilometers from the ring road in Al Warraq area to Mazallat area in Shubra, includes the establishment of five bridges.

According to the spokesman, the axis is considered one of the biggest development projects in Egypt as it was established in line with the highest specifications. He said the axis extends 600 kilometers from Zaafarana on the Red Sea and Al Dabaa on the Mediterranean.

He said the project aims at easing the traffic jam in Cairo and its suburbs, adding that urban communities and investment projects will be established around the project.

The spokesman said that president Sisi also inspected Grand Egyptian Museum which is built on 500,000 square meters including 168 meters for displaying the archaeological pieces.

The president also toured the Pyramids plateau to follow up work progress in the area with the aim of improving services for the tourists, added Radi.
