Sisi orders finalizing digital infrastructure at New Administrative Capital

CAIRO, 25 Dec 2018: President Abdel Fatah el Sisi ordered on Tuesday finalizing digital and information infrastructure at the New Administrative Capital on time.

During a meeting with Communications and Information Technology Minister Amr Talaat, the president stressed that digital infrastructure will be Egypt's gate to the era of smart cities that rely on digital applications and the use of the latest information and communication technology (ICT) in running facilities and services.

Also, the meeting tackled a proposed plan to digitalize the government services, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi said.

President Sisi called for stepping up efforts to automate the government work, through developing management systems of government institutions, especially with regard to human and financial resources and logistics, the spokesman added.

The state pays great attention to the ICT sector, as it plays a key role in achieving comprehensive sustainable development, the spokesman quoted Sisi as saying.

At the end of the meeting, President Sisi directed providing advanced training for cadres and leaders to be qualified for getting access to the digital environment.
