Egypt strongly slams attack on Libyan foreign ministry

CAIRO, 25 Dec 2018: Egypt strongly condemned an attack that targeted the headquarters of the Libyan Foreign Ministry in Tripoli early Tuesday, leaving several people killed and wounded.

In a statement, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry offered condolences to the Libyan people over the victims of the attack, and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

It also stressed the importance of mobilizing international efforts to restore Libya's security and stability and helping state institutions to carry out their duties towards the Libyan people.

The ministry also reaffirmed that Egypt will continue to support Libya in the fight against terrorist groups
