Cabinet approves presidential pardon of some prisoners on Police Day

CAIRO - 20 December 2018: The cabinet under Moustafa Madbouli approved on Thursday a presidential decree pardoning some prisoners on the occasion of the anniversary of Police Day and January Revolution.

According to the constitution, the president has the right to issue pardons for convicted prisoners after consulting with the cabinet.

The cabinet also approved a presidential decree transferring the ownership of some State assets to the Red Sea Ports Authority to make the best use of the country's public properties.

The cabinet also approved the amendment of the statute of the University Law No 49/1972 to annex information and applied arts faculties to Tanta University.

The cabinet also agreed to a request by the Egyptian Power Transfer Company to sign an agreement with an investor to set up a coal-operated power station in Ayoun Moussa.
