ABU DHABI, Nov 21 (MENA) - UAE State Minister for Foreign Affairs Anwar Qarqash asserted that Saudi Arabia and UAE commitment to assisting Yemen and its people is a "historic" step.
On his Twitter account, Qarqash said the Saudi-UAE supplies program aims at meeting the food needs of around 10 to 12 million Yemenis.
He described the initiative as a distinguished humanitarian one which is added to the humanitarian efforts exerted by both countries to relieve the burdens of the war-ravaged country.
Saudi Arabia and UAE announced Tuesday a new initiative worth dlrs 500 million to help the Yemeni people in their food shortage crisis.
