CAIRO – 29 May 2017: A delegation of Catholic Bishops arrived Monday in Cairo to meet a number of Egyptian officials. The delegation is headed by Julian Porteous, the Archbishop of Hobart, Tasmania that is an Australian Island state.

The delegation also comprised of Robert Eli, Bishop of the Two Kings in Sydney. The delegation was received by representatives of the Coptic Orthodox Church in the VIP lounge.

That follows the visit of Pope Francis last April in the 70th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Egypt and the Vatican. The visit included a peace conference at Al-Azhar and a holy mass in the Air Defense Stadium in New Cairo.
