CAIRO - 15 November 2018: Manpower Minister Mohamed Saffan said on Thursday that an initiative on reuniting families of expat Egyptians working in Italy contributes to uprooting illegal migration.

This remark came during a meeting held by the minister with Head of the international sector in the Italian Union of Labor (UIL) and the leader of the Egyptian workers association in Italy Eissa Iskandar to probe the initiative.

Saffan and Iskandar asserted that the main goal of the initiative is uprooting illegal migration and achieving the demands of Egyptians living and working in Italy to be reunited with their families by being allowed to bring their family members, including their wives, children and parents, to the European country to live with them.

The move works on enhancing the spirit of belonging in order to increase productivity of the Egyptian labor in Italy, they affirmed.

Saffan expressed readiness to cooperate with the union to win the Italian authorities' approval on an agreement on that score.
