Chinese FM invites Sisi to attend ‘BRICS’ in September

CAIRO – 29 May 2017: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi invited President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi to attend the BRICS summit in China’s Xiamen city in September 2017. The BRICS association includes Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

This summit seeks introducing China's vision on advancing the BRICS cooperation process during its presidency to leaders of the four countries. The BRICS’s main theme is “BRICS: Stronger Partnership for a Brighter Future.”

President Sisi visited China last September, at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart to attend the 70th anniversary of Chinese victory in World War II.
