AMMAN - 10 November 2018: The death toll from heavy rains and floods in the kingdom's Madaba governorate rose to 11, Petra news agency reported on Saturday.

Jordanian Minister of State for Media Affairs Jumana Ghunaimat said that Civil Defense Department rescue teams have rescued two citizens in Walih, Madaba governorate.

She added that the teams have found a dead body as well.

Ghunaimat pointed out that the rescue teams are still searching for two citizens who were reported missing as a result of flash floods that hit their village yesterday.

More than 3,700 tourists were evacuated from the ancient city of Petra to safe areas before flash floods swept parts of the mountainous city, she noted.
