CAIRO - 4 November 2018: Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa stressed Sunday that the World Youth Forum (WYF) conveys the civilized image of Egypt and reflects its keenness on spreading peace.

Gomaa said that the forum also mirrors the security and stability Egypt enjoys.Bringing youths from all over the world to meet their Egyptian counterparts proves that Egypt is the land of civilization, coexistence and dialogue, he added.

The Minister reiterated Egypt's rejection of terrorism and all acts carried out by misleading groups, saying the Minya attack will never undermine Egyptians' will and unity.

He expressed the ministry's readiness to adopt any recommendation issued by the forum as regards ways of confronting extremist doctrine and violence.

The first session of the second day of the World Youth Forum (WYF) kicked off Sunday morning at Sharm El Sheikh under the title, “The Role of World Leaders in Building and Sustaining Peace.”

During this session, participants will discuss a number of issues, including differences among cultures and civilizations, the role of world leaders in building and sustaining peace, the role of soft power in countering ideological extremism and terrorism, and Day Zero: Water security in the wake of climate change.

Sisi officially launched the second edition of the World Youth Forum (WYF) on Saturday at the end of the opening session.

The opening session was attended by hundreds of participants, as well as keynote speakers, top officials and prominent individuals from all over the world.
