CAIRO - 2 November 2018: Egyptian Attorney General Nabil Sadeq ordered a team from the State Security Prosecution and the Public Prosecution to investigate the scene of the bus attack that killed at least 7 people from Upper Egypt.

An attack carried out on Friday on a bus carrying Copts near a monastery in Upper Egypt's Minya, a governorate that has witnessed numerous terror attacks over years.

At least 7 people were killed in the scene, according to an anonymous security source.

President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi mourned the victims of an attack, stating on his Facebook account, "I deeply grieve for the martyrs who fell [dead] today by treacherous hands that seek to undermine the cohesive fabric of the homeland."

The security forces moved to the scene to disclose the attack's circumstances, and ambulance vehicles arrived near the monastery to transfer the injured to hospitals, the source added, affirming that the perpetrators are being pursued.
