Govt denies planned increase in electricity prices this year

CAIRO - 29 October 2018: The Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) of the Cabinet has denied news about a planned increase in electricity prices for a second time this year.

The IDSC said Monday that it contacted the Electricity Ministry to confirm the news, but it categorically denied it.

There will not be any additional increase in electricity prices this fiscal year, which ends on June 30, 2019, the Ministry stressed.

New electricity prices should be applied as of July 1, 2019, according to the Ministry.
