Pilot phase of Cairo Metro Line 3 to start Saturday

CAIRO - 19 Oct 2018: Transport Minister Hesham Arafat on Saturday is to witness the launch of the pilot phase of the fourth stage of Cairo Metro Line 3.

During its trial operation, the train's starting point will be Al-Ahram station in Cairo's Heliopolis district.

The Cairo metro, which operates throughout the capital city and surrounding areas and runs both above and below ground at a top speed of 80 kilometers an hour, is one of the area's fastest means of transportation.
