Shoukry holds series of meetings in Barcelona

BARCELONA - 8 October 2018: Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held on Monday a series of intensive meetings with a number of top diplomats and European Union officials on the fringe of the 3rd Regional Forum of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), held in Barcelona.

Shoukry had talks with Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn on boosting cooperation and supporting dialogue between Egypt and the EU in addition to several regional and international issues of common interest.

The foreign minister met with his Spanish counterpart Josep Borrell to exchange views on fostering cooperation between Cairo and Madrid at all levels.

The Egyptian top diplomat also held a meeting with Mauritanian Foreign Minister Ould Cheikh Ahmed, that tackled bilateral ties and coordinating stances towards issues of common interest.
