CAIRO - 8 October 2018: Higher Education Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar and President of the University of Tokyo Makoto Gonokami met Sunday to discuss mechanisms of cooperation in the field of education.

A statement by the Higher Education Ministry said Abdel Ghaffar, during his visit to Japan, also met with Juichi Yamagiwa, the president of Kyoto University, noting that they probed the possibility of establishing a branch of the university in Egypt.

During his stay in Japan, the minister also attended a forum on science and technology and reviewed Egypt's future vision to benefit from the different tools of scientific research and technology in shaping personalities of students.

He stressed the need to use advanced tools to hone skills of researchers around the world.

The international social aspect should also be taken into consideration, Abdel Ghaffar said, noting that the fourth industrial revolution is quickly spilling over into the global work system with robots now replacing human elements.
