Hepatitis C major medical scan kicks off on Sunday

CAIRO – 1 October 2018: The director of the National campaign to run medical scan in all Egyptian governorates, Riham Allam, said that the campaign will start on October 1 in nine governorates.

Allam added that the second stage of the campaign will kick off in December and the third will start in March, ends in April. The director pointed out in a phone call with the TV satellite show “Ra’ei A’aam” (Public Opinion), aired by TEN satellite channel, that the campaign schedule will be provided in a special website, to have the citizens aware of the medical centers perfroming the medical tests.

“The majority of the Egyptian families suffer from hepatitis C, obesity, diabetes, and hypertension, all of the aforementioned diseases will be tested. If a patient was discover, he/she will receive a free medical treatment from the medical center”, said Allam.

The Egyptian Ministry of health and population, supported by the World Health Organization (WHO), is organizing a major medical campaign in all of Egypt to cure patients with hepatitis C.
